America's Funniest Trail Cam Pictures

A trail cam can not only tell you where the animals are at but it can yield some interesting images. Where else can you find a "Coonhog" on the move?
The trail cam can show you what you might expect if you spent significant time in the area or camp out overnight. Sometimes you will see strange things like this image.
Anyway, have a happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
See you back in the field soon.

Deep Florida Jungle Hunt For Skunk Ape

This swamp area of jungle was so humid, look at the moss that is growing on this palm tree. The humidity is so thick you can cut it with a knife. The temperatures lately have been near 80 but they should be cooling off over the Thanksgiving holiday. That would be a welcome relief for us Floridians.
I spent several hours going way out into this track. I captured on video the audio of three separate knocking episodes. I have a new theory about "tree knocking" in Florida. I think that palm frontons are being used. They are easy to pick up off the ground, they are hard, and smacked against another palmetto bush, they sound loud indeed. Forest floor wood is to wet and eroded to do much good.

I also believe that I may have picked up a human imitation vocal. Something seemed to be following me on a parallel track. I kept hearing something coming from my right. In fact, I point to the area at the moment the sound "oh, come now" is heard. I think that is what they said.

The video is over nine minutes long but it is important to watch the whole thing to get the feel of what is going on.

Florida Wild Monkeys

Some believe these are the decedents of the monkeys from the Tarzan movies that were filmed near Silver Springs.

Larry Battson To Discuse Bigfoot Theories

Larry Battson believes there is evidence that Bigfoot is more than a character in a beef jerky commercial.

Battson -- a wildlife educator and founder of Wildlife Educational Services -- will talk about Sasquatch, also known as Bigfoot, on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the auditorium at New Castle, Indiana-Henry County Public Library, 376 S. 15th St.
During the free program, Battson will discuss the "real possibility of a rare and relatively unknown creature that may roam the forests of North America," according to a press release.

Is Bigfoot really some type of human-like creature? Battson has been studying Bigfoot for 30 years and travels the country to research the alleged sightings. Recently Battson was featured by History Channel’s MonsterQuest. Battson and his wife Cheryl operate the Wildlife Educational Services in Greencastle, Indiana.

Ocala National Forest

The Ocala National Forest is a 430,000 acre preserve. It was the first National forest east of the Mississippi River and is the furthest most southern National Forest. It is also one of the best areas in the country for Bigfoot sightings. That is why this area has been on my radar for months. I have just been waiting for the weather to cool down.
I recently spent a weekend in the area and got a lot of footage to put on my YouTube account. I am in the process of editing the videos. I got some great nature photos, that made it worth the trip. Unfortunately, I did not have a Bigfoot sighting. That would not have been strange for the first time coming up here.

I have scouted out many primitive camping areas and will be taking some overnights deep into the forest in the coming months. Some exciting things are planed. I hope to have some positive evidence by March. But you never know.

The Ocala Forest is a beautiful, and adventurous place. I can't believe that it has taken me this long to get up here.

An Image In Swifmud Area

Now that Hurricane Ida has left after dumping rain on the Florida Penninsula for the last eight days, I was able to get back out into the field. I went back to the swifmud area, and believe I found a river bank of one of the 'seventeen runs' of the Hillsborough River. I saw some interesting shapes in the images I took. Could be a Blobsquatch.

It looks like a pair of eyes to me. I did know this out there until I loaded in my computer and took a look.

This Is What Gets Me

This image was taken in Dauphin County, Pa. by a thru hiker of the Appalachian trail and it is supposed to show Bigfoot. The outline of it is caused by branches on the tree. This is a BLOBSQUATCH. That is all it is. It is not even a GOOD Blobsquatch.

Tom Biscardi got involved somehow, Oregon Bigfoot.com mentions it in a post. “This is raw footage,” says Biscardi. “This is the real deal. You’ve got to understand, I’ve been doing this for 36 years, and this is the ultimate – to finally come across one of these beasts. And here it is roaming up in these mountains.” Based on this screen shot image? Ok... I quess you have a full video that no doubt shows the real bigfoot. Let me guess...Nothing will be forthcoming. It is just a Blobsquatch.

Even Abovetopsecret.com has gotten involved and a major board post has developed about this.

However, my image goes unnoticed. Take a look at my image here. It is a little more impressive than the other one. I took it in a very remote area. Tom Biscardi contact me and I will take you into this area where Bigfoot really is at. We will find him. Just bring your 'guns' and 'gear.'

My image, along with a video, is clear and of high quality. I don't think it can be readily debunked. It does not fit the classic definition of a "Blobsquatch."

"Blobsquatch" is specifically the object in a photograph of a supposed Bigfoot
or Sasquatch that has a lack of definition and detail, an illusion created by a
play of light within an often unfamiliar natural environment. It is literally a
"blob" (an indistinct shapeless form) that may or may not, but probably is not,
a Sasquatch."

I should be like Biscardi and go to the media. I have tons of media contacts. That would not be a problem. I was hoping interest would come from the Bigfoot community and the blogosphere. Perhaps I thought wrong. That is why I posted that rant that I took down off of YouTube because I only wanted someone to take a look at this. They only seem to be interested in this lame-ass image capture. Here is the video

Bigfoot Footprints Found In Ocala National Forest

This Bigfoot track was found in the Ocala National Forest in 1985. It was found by a Lake County Deputy Sgt. D. Kirby. This Deputy had found several other tracks during this period. The location was near a Federal construction site working on new forestry roads. The trakcs were 17 by 6 1/2 inches. It was once believed that the Florida Skunk Ape was a smaller version of the Bigfoot. It seems from this cast and footprints that I have found, that the Canadian Sasquatch may indeed be in Florida. This is a copy of the old newspaper report.
It is because of the historical nature of skunk ape sightings in Florida near the Ocala National Forest that I will be focusing much of my expeditions in the next few months.

Tropical Storm Ida Making Conditions Windy

A rare November Hurricane Ida is making its way toward the Florida West Coast. The eye of the storm will hit around the panhandle area and causing 20-30 mph winds in the Tampa area. We should get much needed rain in the next 72 hours. The good news is that by Friday the high temperature in West Central Florida will only be about 71 with the low around 50. Now how cool is that! With the clear sky's, that should be perfect weather to get out on an expedition. Can't wait.

Dave Shealy

Dave Shealy has spent nearly his whole life looking for the Florida Skunk Ape or the Florida Bigfoot, believed by many, to be only a figment of his imagination.

You know him from his appearances on national television; Discovery Channel, Travel, Channel, TLC, Unsolved Mysteries, The Daily Show, The Pulse, Inside Edition, and you have read about his adventures in the Enquirer, The Sun, Miami NewTimes, and Readers Digest.

Dave spends most of his time in the Big Cypress Swamp searching for the Skunk Ape when he's not maintaining the Trail Lakes Campground.

He once tried to form an expidition to find and "bag' the skunk ape. Financing for that fell thru. At least one guy in Florida has the right idea. We are at the point that we need a body in a research lab for total proof.

Dave Shealy owns and runs the Skunk Ape museum and the Trail Lakes Campground in Ochopee, Florida. The Skunk Ape Museum and Research Headquarters is open to the public 7 days a week from 7am to 7pm. You can purchase Skunk Ape memorabilia along with blow guns, knives and alligator heads at the Headquarters Store or on line. The Headquarters also features a Reptile & Bird Exhibit of huge gators, constrictors and a variety of exotic birds. Admission is $3 per person

"LIfe's Fine But It t'aint easy" - Ocala National Forest and Bigfoot

I saw this Gregory Peck and Jane Wyman Movie, The Yearling when I was a kid. I know now that the young deer in the movie and novel was a metaphor for the childlike state that wants to believe that life is all sunshine and rainbows. Nothing is further from the truth. Gregory Peck wanted to protect Jody from this knowledge, even though, they were the original homesteaders in the Ocala National Forest of Florida called "the big scrub." It also is one of the busiest areas for BFRO reported Bigfoot sightngs. I plan to go to the "Yearling trail" by this weekend and visit the old homestead and graveyard. I may see deer, I want to see Bigfoot. This movie gets to me man..it gets to me.

Who Is Tom Biscardi?

On the heals of the success that Billy Willard and the Virginia Sasquatch Research Organization had late October in West Virginia, Tom Biscardi is now going in this week to continue filming a documentary he is producing named after his company-"Searching For Bigfoot."
Wasn't Biscardi involved in the Georgia Bigfoot hoax? I remember seeing him on Fox Cable News. He claimed he got beat out of thousands by two law enforcement guys who had a frozen rug and a Halloween costume in a freezer. Biscardi claimed to have examined it while frozen and was fooled. Hum?

The Florida Trail 1,300 Miles Of Paradise

I am working on a plan that will put me on the Florida trail at the half-way point in the Green Swamp of Polk county and up into the Panhandle. It would take me about 8 weeks to walk this trail and do all of the photography and 'squatching that I need to do. Camping out at night isolated scores of miles from civilization would be a golden opportunity that as a Bigfoot researcher I cannot pass up. I plan to start on February 15, 2010. I hope. Tampa Tribune reporter Mike Dewitt said it all when he walked the Florida Trail in 2007, "Florida's soul is on this trail."

Tales From The Florida Trail

I hit the Florida Trail over the weekend. I went to a remote part near the Withlacoochee River south of the Ocala National Forest. It was very quit and I saw lots of wildlife. I did pick up something that may have been a black bear or a tree stump. It seemed to be sitting on a creek bank. I found a primitive camp site and lit a camp fire! I have not seen a camp fire in years, and that made the trip worth it. I got some great images and lots of video that I am still looking at.

The Florida trail is 1,100 miles long and stretches from south of Miami all the way up to the Panhandle of Florida near the Alabama border. It cuts thru the rich Eco-system that is unique to Florida and into the most remote parts of the North American Continent. That is where a Large mammal could hide and live without ever being spotted. That is why I went to this location. I had a great time.

When I went to sign in at the trail head, this green tree frog was sitting on the clip board. I did not want to bother him, so I went ahead anyway.
