Sunset on a Bigfoot expedition

The sunset over the camp
George and I had an opportunity to go on an overnight at a primitive camp in the swamp. The weather could not have been better. November is the time of year to do this. I had a few objectives in mind. I wanted to get into a protected swamp area that is closed to hunting. I also wanted to try out my new Canon Night Vison function on my camera. Plus, just wanted a nice camping trip.

The maintenance of the camp is something I could do without.

NIGHT OPS TACTICAL Green Swamp

Halloween is the perfect time of year to kick start the Skunk Ape season in Florida. It is the beginning of the cool weather and it's migratory season for the cryptids. Our best evidence has consistently been found in the Fall and Spring migratory range. Go to www.enigmaticanomalies.com and www.floridabigfootinvestigators.com for more info. Kevin Thomas Kehl produced and edited the TV version of this. He did a great job and check out his sites.

The "Bigfoot Blues" campfire jam fest

This is Stevie Strings and Jeff Cook getting down at the Bigfoot expedition this weekend. For you folks that are armchair Bigfoot researchers, you don't know what you are missing. It was fun for all.

Sasquatch and a meteor shower

We had the pleasure last night of watching the Geminid Meteor Shower while camping out on a Bigfoot expedition. It happens every year on December 13 till the peak time after midnight on the 14th with over 120 shooting stars an hour. They originate near the constellation Orion. We watched this tremendous celestial display on a crystal clear, very cold night, around the campfire with spiced rum. We could hear coyotes howling, and owls hooting. Lying in my tent with the rain flap off, I fell asleep watching one shooting star after another. I swear life don't get any better.

Backpack trip: Concession Stand Camp Green Swamp

The Florida Trail would take us to a camping adventure
I had an opportunity to travel to the Green Swamp wilderness west track to do an overnight back country backpacking trip. There is a group of us that have a FaceBook group page and it was organized by Nick. I was hoping to have all of us hike to the campsite as a group but it was not to be. Kevin and Teri were doing something that day, and Nick was feeding the homeless. I did not even know that Rob was going to make it but it would be well after dark before he could make it. No problem. Rob is retired Army and teaches ROTC. He thrives in the woods at night

The beauty of the sand pine forest along the Florida Trail
I was not to believe the beauty I was witnessing. The topography changed from cypress swamp to this sand pine forest. This December day was cool, dry, and had a clear blue sky. It was the perfect day to be doing this. The temps tonight would get into the forties out here and I was prepared with layers of sweat shirts. Hopefully, we will have a raging fire and that will keep us warm.

My gear
After a couple hours, there was a problem. I was entering a hilly area (there are hills in Florida) and still no damn sight of the camp sign. I did not think I was lost because the orange blazes were still on the trees. I found it hard to believe I had not walked far enough. The sun was setting and I was getting ready to spend the night out here. I had yet to run into anyone from the group. This just underscores that people should not take theses things lightly. If you are a group, then be one. If for no other reason then safety. I could have gotten into trouble and nobody would have known it.
This was the spot I had picked and the fire wood
What I did not know was I was only 100 feet from the trail sign. I just did not have it in me to keep going without being sure I was headed in the right direction. I pulled out my new T-MOBILE phone to see if it got reception out here and it did. I got a hold of Kevin. The entire gang was at the trail head and the sun was setting. Great. This was not really how I was thinking it was going to be. I wanted to have time to relax at camp during the daylight.
The sun was setting
I finally heard Nick's call and he found me. This is when I learned that camp was just on the other side of the bushes and Teri and Kevin were already there. Wow! I had done it but did not know it. I was glad to see another human being.
Getting our campfire going
Kevin had already found some firewood and Nick used his fire starter to get it going. It was getting dark and we had a lot to do. We stacked wood like crazy. It was going to be cold tonight folks and we were going to need it. Plus, I just like a good campfire.
Teri was with Kevin but they were going to have leave soon.
I was glad Kevin and Teri made it. I just really wish they could have stayed the night. It was going to be crystal clear and I know they are UFO investigators. In fact, the go to conventions all over the country.
There was also a meteor shower tonight with no moon and cold skies. The absolute perfect combination. I don't know what anyone could want. I did not know about the meteor shower. It happens every year on this date as the earth moves through the remnants of a comet of long ago. Next year I will be better prepared.

Sunset from the camp

There was a lake to the west of the camp and another pond in the back. This was a nice backdrop for the setting sun on such a clear winter night in Florida. It was a lot of hard work to get out here but there was no place else I would have rather been. The camp was in a natural valley within the hills. It felt cozy. Simply fantastic.

Kevin and Teri had to go and we said our goodbyes. But before they left, something was calling back to Teri. It sounded like and owl. There is a theory that Bigfoot copies the sounds of nature. Could it have been Bigfoot last night? Wow!
Our campfire after dark
It was so cold we really did not do any exploring that night, which we always do. Rob found the camp but that was only after Nick went got him after he missed the FT sign in the dark.

We got a special treat that night. Not only did we hear two very loud coyote kills in the darkness but the Geminid meteor shower was tonight. There would be about 120 shooting stars and hour lasting all night. I have an ap on phone that is for star gazing and it will at least line you up with the constilations and planets. I was facing due east and that was were all the action was coming from...the consitlation Gemini.
It was a sight to see

In the morning we cooked breakfast and "highbrow coffee." It was wonderful. We did find the trail sign that was my nemeses yesterday. It was cold when we climbed out of our sleeping bags but as the sun came up we ended up in short sleeves.
Nick and Rob
I will find this sign next time
We went down to the lake next to the camp and it was perfect for photography. The leaves had fallen off the Cypress trees and the visibility was excellent. When you live in Florida year round, you really look forward to this time of year when you can get out and go to these places.
A nice view of the swamps

This is the morning campfire that we made breakfast on. We boiled water and I cooked hot dogs. Nick bid sausage and bacon. It was so cold last night we did not need ice.

Campfire at Concession Stand Camp

This is Nick Tudor (the next big thing in Bigfoot) lighting the fire. It was going to be very cold and we were stocking up on fire wood.

Backpack trip to Concession Camp

This took forever to get to but I made it. I took a ton of photos and hope to have a complete essay tomorrow. I have put up five YouTube videos that are awesome. This is me drinking "highbrow" coffee after sunrise. This was fun.

A.P.E.S. Project Bigfoot is launched in Green Swamp

The balloon that will carry the cameras into space!
George McGee the chief engineer for the A.P.E.S. Project
The "Arial Platform Electronic Surveillance" Project Bigfoot has been launched. This is something we have been working on for a long time. The goal was to loft a craft high above the tree tops in the Green Swamp to look down and take video. In the future, we will outfit it with night vision and this will be a staple of what we do.

I helped out by documenting everything with extensive YouTube videos. I also went out and found firewood. I can help sometimes.

I consider myself to be very lucky to associate with a bunch of talented guys. Kevin is not shown here because he was shooting most of the images.

A campfire with wet wood

After the heavy rains, we had to get a fire going. My theory was right that the outside of the wood was wet but the interior was dry. Once we got it going, it burned all night. I am not camping without a campfire. No way.

A large pile of dead fall allowed the fire to burn all night. There were thick fuel logs still burning at first light. It was a wonderful night with brilliant stars in the sky.
The research area after the rains. looks like of spooky?
An amazing sunset over the swamp Bigfoot area

This video was on the forest road just as the sun was rising. You can hardly see it.

The rains did cool things off and amazingly there were no bugs!!!! How you can go into this area in August and have no bugs is beyond me. I was greatful, indeed. I wanted a little coffee and there is nothing more higbrow then campfire coffee. Ummm good.

Camping near a Bigfoot sighting

I went camping last week with friends. It was at a commercial site which is a change of pace from our usual primitive/backcountry outings in Florida. You can see the taxi and my tent (I have two tents) and I enjoyed having a bathroom across the way at campsite #28.

This is George who brought most of the gear and got us started on chopping wood. He is a guy that will have a gadget for everything. He also happens to be the host of a local TV show about the paranormal.

We really had a nice fire going just before sunset and were waiting for Teri and Kevin to show up. They soon did and Kevin became "Children of the Corn" which is a tradition for us.

It all went downhill after dinner when we decided to go look for Bigfoot. That is when I got hurt skidding down a limestone rock face. I have been out of commission but I am on the mend.

Chopping wood at Camp Bigfoot

Tim Fasano with the axe

We went camping this week and we needed a fire. We were at Hillsborough River State Park and the wood they sell you here are very large pieces. We needed smaller ones to get the fire going. Time to chop wood! First, you need an axe. Then,  strike the wood longways resting on a piece of wood. The smaller pieces help launch the burn of the fuel logs. We made a log cabin style which is good for cold nights when camping. With my new fire sticks, the campfire burned all night at the Bigfoot Campout.

Aztec Snake 1 Bigfoot expedition

I entered the widerness area, and set up camp. I gathered firewood by dragging it to the fire ring. George will be here soon with a "secret weapon" while we are camping in the search for Bigfoot. The Falcon Project will spend a fortune. We are going to go skyward for a lot less.

George and his gadgets

George is a paranormal investigator who works production for a major cable television channel. He also has and makes many gadgets that could be useful in Bigfoot research. This is an EMF device they use in ghost investigations. He is trying in the tonight to see if any readings show up.

Bigfoot expedition Green Swamp

I am very tired but I have a lot of stuff that made this trip very special. Everything went right. The weather and the bugs cooperated and we made it to Skunk Ape Mountain. I will soon upload all the video. We hide nothing.

New Images from Myakka

Myakka River State Park is a very wild place. You can see the real Florida the way it was 1,000 years ago before Europeans came to the area. Wildlife is in abundance and visitors are guaranteed to see alligators sunning on the banks of the Myakks River. Deer and wild turkey will walk right by you and pay no attention. That is one of the reasons this area is a popular destination point.
A large gator on the bank
There are 38 miles of trails that leed through the park, covering a varity of terrain. You will go into flood pine forest, then emerge into a vast Savannah of grass that stretches to the horizon. Then, find yourself in a cypress swamp dome. There is nothing boring about the hiking trails in this area.

Once in camp, you can settle back to relax and enjoy the night around the campfire stargazing. You can, like we did, go out looking for cryptids with your cameras and see if you can get an image. With two recent video sightings, and one confirmed class sighting on the BFRO data banks, this area is prime. The video below is Kevin and I after several hours of night exploration around the Mossy Hammock primitive camp area.

Bill Brock and Tim Fasano inside Myakka Park

This is Bill Brock and I cruising by the powerline and the famous sighting area in Myakka State Park. Bill came down from Maine to be part of this exciting event. He was a real cool dude, just like Stacey.

Getting ready for the Myakka Skunk Ape expedtion

This weekend should be wild man. Stacy Brown jr, and his crew, along with 30 researchers from around Florida, and from out of state, will hit Myakka River State Park for a Skunk Ape expedition. This has taken some planning and it may be the first time different groups have agreed to work together, and not let their egos get in the way. Will see if that really happens. I hope so.

I am picking up a researcher from out of State at Tampa International Airport and taking him to the expedition. We should arrive about mid-day. We will investigate the sighting area, then, backpack out to the primitive camping areas for night investigation. I should just leave my stuff up because we will camp out the next night, as well. Will see what happens.

We will also have a town hall meeting just like you see on TV. How cool is that! It seems many people in Myakka have had sightings and they are now willing to come forward and share their stories with researchers. That will be a lot of fun.

This video is Kevin using his thermal camera to test it on me in total darkness. The white tee shirt I have on really shows up well in the darkness. We will be using that extensively this weekend.

Two views of the palmetto line were the sighting was at

This is from way in front of the palmetto line and one taken from behind on the line on the horse trail. This is how I believe these creatures can navigate large tracks of wilderness. The Green Swamp is 120,000 acres and it makes total sense. Why try to carve out a trail in the thick brush when you can use what man has already made. Take a good look at these photos.
