How Tall Is A Skunk Ape?
We believe the Florida Skunk Ape to be about six to seven feet in height. He may weigh about 300-350 lbs. He is smaller then his Pacific North West Sasquatch cousins because Florida is flat and they do not need great strength to move around. Plus, they have more hair to ward off biting insects which are bad around the Gulf Coast. I believe they live in groups and may migrate, except the older ones that stay behind and gives us details with their footprints. These are they ones that we may one day discover and find shortly after a natural death and then science can examine.

Apalachicola National Forest Is Home For A Bigfoot
All the indications point to the Apalachicola National Forest as a PRIME area for the skunk ape or Bigfoot...a large Southern Sasquatch. A continuous swamp exist between Florida and the Louisiana/Arkansas Bayou. The largest forest between these locations is the Apalachicola forest. It is one of the largest in the United States and is desolate, with many places for this animal to hide from man.
The Apalachicola National Forest is the largest U.S. National Forest in the state of Florida. It contains 564,961 acres(882.8 sq mi; 2,286.3 km2)[1] and is the only national forest located in the Florida Panhandle. The Apalachicola National Forest contains two Wilderness Areas, Bradwell Bay and Mudswamp/New River. The National Forest also provides water and land-based outdoors activities such as hiking, swimming, boating, hunting, fishing, horse-back riding, and off-road ATV usage.[2] Integral to the Apalachicola National Forest are a number of special purpose areas: Camel Lake Recreation Area, Fort Gadsden Historical Site, Leon Sinks Geological Area, Silver Lake Recreation Area, and Wright Lake Recreation Area. In descending order of forest land area it is located in parts of Liberty, Wakulla, Leon, and Franklin counties. [1] The forest is headquartered in Tallahassee, as are all three National Forests in Florida, but there are local Forest ranger district offices located in Bristol and Crawfordville.

Do Insects Follow The Florida Skunk Ape?
I was a away and had my back turned to the camera for several minutes. Some of my Youtube posters say they can hear something walking up to the camera. It is at this point that a bee flies around the camera. Just wondering why that happened when it has never happened before. I should have turned around I guess.

Look At An Area Of Interest
I spent Tuesday out in the area where the attack happened. There was a cypress swamp (now a little dry) area on the other side of the Palmettos where the coyote came out of. If you listen the the video below, you will hear more than one thing running around. This seems to be a very good area, and will be the site of much future investigation.

Coyotes Chasing Something Large: A Possible Skunk Ape
I was near the Green Swamp area Saturday night on an operation to find the Florida Skunk Ape. I had seen something earlier moving across the swamp that was light in color. I set up a stationary tripod to get a better look at it. While I was standing behind it, the howls and the footsteps got very loud. The thing came out of the Palmettos and was charging me. I don't know what they were chasing, but it can be seen moving through the brush at about six feet in height.
This video is not on YouTube at this point. This is a very important research video into the existence of the Florida Skunk Ape.

Swamp Night Operations
I have not gone on many night operations in search of the Florida skunk ape, but I had an opportunity Saturday night to try out some new equipment and search an area that I have been in during the day. The riverviine swamp area was full of water since we have been getting lots of rain. Something was out there, but I really needed my spot light. However, the police maglight was perfect, when the animal that had been howling on one of the YouTube videos, came running out of the woods and damn near got me. Yes, I did get it on video. I have just not released it yet.
I hope you enjoy this video...It is exclusive to this blog AND IS NOT ON YOUTUBE!

Should Be Back Out In Field Soon
I should be back out looking for the Florida Skunk Ape as soon as this weekend. I have been sick, but I am now feeling better. Plus, I have been working on my photography, and that has taken much of my time. I am scheduled to be on a national Blogtalk radio show next week...details coming up. It will feel good to get back into field. Lets get 'er done.
